East High School’s Capstone class made an exciting visit to Carey Junior High this week, giving younger students a hands-on look at the world of computer science and engineering. The visit featured several interactive stations, including demonstrations of a custom-built mini PC, drone technology, and 3D-printed vehicles—all designed to show the creative side of modern tech education.
The outreach event aimed to introduce Carey students to the computer science courses and opportunities available at East High. Each station was led by Capstone students, who explained how the projects were built, the skills involved, and how technology plays a role in their learning.
“Our goal was to make technology approachable,” said one Capstone member. “We wanted to show that computer science isn’t just about coding—it’s about creativity, design, and solving real-world problems.”
Teachers at Carey Junior High praised the visit for sparking curiosity and excitement among their students. Many younger attendees expressed interest in exploring East High’s programs once they move on to high school.
The event marks a growing effort by the Capstone program to connect with the community and inspire the next generation of innovators. With projects ranging from drone flight to hardware design, East High’s Capstone students continue to lead by example—showing what’s possible when curiosity meets opportunity.
