The East High School Capstone class is taking its creativity on the road. Later this October, students will be visiting Carey Junior High to showcase their ongoing projects, share insights into the Capstone program, and inspire younger students to pursue innovation and hands-on learning.
This outreach marks the beginning of a series of visits planned to other local schools, where East High students will demonstrate what Capstone is all about—real-world problem-solving, teamwork, and building skills that bridge academics and future careers.
“Our goal is to show younger students what’s possible when you take an idea and really bring it to life,” said one Capstone participant. “We want to get them excited about the kind of projects they’ll be able to do when they reach high school.”
The visit to Carey Junior High will include live demonstrations, discussions about project development, and opportunities for middle schoolers to ask questions. Teachers and students alike hope the event will spark new interest in STEM, creative design, and leadership opportunities within the district.
Following the Carey visit, the Capstone class plans to schedule additional school visits throughout the year—continuing to build connections, share knowledge, and represent East High’s spirit of innovation beyond its own walls.
